Around 1883, a mere eight years after the founding of Calgary, another town began to blossom. Nestled in the foothills, in the stretches between what is now known as Bow Valley Provincial Park and Bragg Creek, lays the picturesque town of Caraquette. The founders of Caraquette were migrants from France, as well as from other parts of modern day Canada, all of whom had ventured in on the Canadian Pacific Railway. Of the founding families, only a handful still remain to this day.

The first founding family of Caraquette, the Windermere family, whom own Longview Racing Stables is renowned for their expertise in the horse racing business; flat, carts, steeplechase. Their money is often used to provide themselves and their clients with the most expensive equipment, facilities and horses. The Windermere family is thought to have it all: the land, the money and a beautiful, seemingly flawless family. However, dark secrets run beneath the surface, waiting to be revealed.

The second founding family of Caraquette, the Courtright family, who own Pine River Ranch, is said to be descended from a mix of natives and locals from Calgary. They are best known for their exceptional approach to the taming and training of unruly horses. Often times they can be seen around the province testing the stamina, agility and speed of their mounts in various gymkhanas and rodeos. What they lack in money, they have always made up for in heart and hard-work. Though they have little, they've always believed in having family. Despite this, dark times are head, as big city banks and loan offices rarely understand the intimacies of small town living.

More recently, a third stable has made itself a big factor in the town of Caraquette. It is known for everything English. It is owned by newcomer Evander Everette. He is known to have come from a family that owns one of the largest Irish Draught farms in Ireland. Rather than taking over the family business, he aspired to make a name for himself in a place where his family had little to no influence. He is an Equine Geneticist and holds an Equine Business Management Degree. At Clover Lane Equestrian he intends to provide every rider the best environment possible to excel in Driving, Dressage, Hunter and Jumping. There are no limits to what you can achieve and compete in with Clover Lane. This is not a stable for the rich or simple pleasure seekers, but those who dream big and work hard.
